Paaji was playing a different ballgame; he was in Lucknow cheering up the boys taking part in the inter-state tournament for the blind children—Cricket360.com reports.
All of them were visually challenged, but they were representing their states in a game where clear eyesight is supposed to be a great asset. When these courageous and determined kids were hitting the pitch with bat and ball, they had a cheerleader of a different kind in the stand to shout for them and it was none other than Paaji, the big brother of international cricket, Kapil Dev . It was just amazing to see the visually challenged players batting effortlessly, bowling to the perfection and yes catching the balls too when they were coming to their direction! Paaji too was clean bowled by these kids’ amazing cricket skills. He even remarked, “The ability that these (visually challenged) cricketers have is not possessed by even the Team India players.” Kapil Dev was in Lucknow playing cricket with visually challenged children and sharing a few happy moments with them. The children were representing their respective states in this inter-state tournament specially arranged for the blind children. Kapil shared tips with the visibly ecstatic kids. The players were far too happy to get this legend of international cricket star among them right on the pitch. "I am feeling very happy as I have played in this tournament before. I used to play for Delhi's team and as a player I have been part of this tournament. That is the reason I am really enjoying being a part of this whole thing," said Seeshpal Yadav, a visually challenged cricketer.” However, Kapil Paaji was all praise for the organizers of the event. The prowess of these cricketers challenged by luck might have made the Haryana Hurricane realize that it was probably easier facing challenges in the international cricket . However, the disabled cricket in India needs more of this kind of boost from the veterans. Kapil Dev has proved time and again that he was not only a great cricketer, but also a great human being. And being present among the visually challenged players and offering tips to them and sharing the pitch with them, Kapil has proved it one more time. Cricket360 salutes you Paaji.
