They say if you have got a chance you need to capitalize it with both the hands. JP Duminy seems to be doing precisely the same observes cricket 360. He got an opportunity to play for South Africa against Australia and by his prowess and talent dislodged Australia as the number one team in one day international ranking. He is one player who can bat, bowl and field with equal poise, difficult to make a distinction between these three fields as in which one he is better, and therefore in IPL bidding as well, he got selected.

South African selection board therefore must have been in great dilemma indeed in ignoring his claim ahead of Ashwell Prince for inclusion as a player in South African Squad. And they precisely did the same. They have preferred Duminy ahead of Prince even though Prince is no physically fit to play the matches.

History seems to be repeating her, and there is striking parallel with India. It was in the series against England around ten years ago that Sanjay Manjrekar got injured and it paved the way for debut of Sourav Ganguly. Sourav capitalized on the opportunity and Manjrekar was forced to announce his retirement, as he never got a chance to get back into the team. Sourav was on such a song, that he was not dropped from the Indian squad after he made his test debut.

The same may not happen with Prince as he still has got quite a lot of international cricket let in him, but if Duminy is able to give creditable performance in the first two test matches against Australia for which he has been selected, it would indeed be a difficult task for Prince to find his place again in the South African squad.
