When Ricky Ponting had joined Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League , it was asked from him whether the defeat that Australia suffered morally playing against India would have an effect on Australian cricket; he gave a smug laugh, and tried to write it off. But, how long can one torment one's soul and not accept the truth. It has to be accepted, and told to the world. So, Ricky Ponting has agreed that the fortunes of his team started going downhill after the drubbing that they received from the Indian team .

Anil Kumble must be feeling vindicated as the stand taken by him of playing the game in the spirit of the game has paid off and he has been able to force the Australian captain to come out with the truth and inform the world that India plays game in the spirit of the game. Arrogance has given a place to acceptance about the fact that one should be out with the truth then it becomes easy to start the process of rebuilding once again.

Now that Ponting has accepted it, his soul would be free, and he would be in a better position to start giving time and thought to rebuild his team once again and make it one of the best in the world, it indeed is. The only change that is required is the manner in which they inject the element of aggression in every aspect, which does not endear them to any of the teams in the world.

It also again is an acknowledgement about the fact that the Indian cricket is reaching its pinnacle of glory. Besides, thought operating at the back of Ponting's mind would be that he has to play cricket in India as an IPL player and he cannot continue to play if he does mot maintain amicable and harmonious relationship with the team mates. Now that he has unburdened his soul, he would find that cricket still is enjoyable, more so in India, also in Kolkata where he belongs as a member of Kolkata Night Riders. He would now come to realize that the fans of his Indian Premier League team would give him much respect and adulation than he would ever have got in his life.
