The speculative cricket news about Champion’s trophy venue has sparked off controversies and created confusions. Read through the article to know what all the fusses are about!

Is Pakistan safe for hosting a major international cricket tournament? While the security experts are yet to find the answer, the cricketers from Australia, England and New Zealand are cut and thrust--they don’t find it fit to tour a country where blasts, kidnappings and assassinations have become rather routine affair. The latest cricket news revealed that these teams have jointly coaxed the ICC to switch the venue for the upcoming cricket event. With the tournament due to kick off from 11 September, the media is rife with all sort of contradictory cricket news about the exact venue of this year’s Champion’s trophy.

However, the Indian cricket officials prefer a postponement over relocation. Their suggestion on rescheduling the tournament was coincided with a bit of cricket news that one of the crucial parts of Pakistan's past security plans would be missing in the Champions Trophy. It has been decided by the Pakistani security personnel that there will be no traffic restriction on the roads between team hotels and cricket stadiums. This decision came as a shock to the other teams.

The media was also abuzz with the breaking news that the Australian cricket board employed their own security expert Reg Dickason to get the actual picture of the security situation of Pakistan. It was also reported that the Australian cricket board has agreed to share the finding with England Cricket Board. Meanwhile the successful hosting of another international cricket event---Asia Cup was reported to satisfy Reg Dickason.

After meeting key personnel from police and discussing various security aspects with them, Nicholls & Steyn---the ICC's security consultants submitted their report to ICC. A process was drawn to deal with all kinds of emergencies before and during this mega international cricket tournament. Lorgat assured that security of the cricketers is the foremost concern of ICC and “if it is not appropriate to play in any country then we will not do so”. He concluded by saying “At this stage we are working towards the ICC Champions Trophy being held in Pakistan in September.”

The media continues to serve peppy cricket news relating to the fate of this year’s Champion’s Trophy. But one thing is clear: even if the security issues are cleared some of the leading players will still abstain from the tournament.
