The ardent cricket buff could not ask for more: there is a plethora of ongoing and upcoming series that will keep then riveted to the cricket coverage to watch some of the best players and the best teams in international cricket action: Australia is touring South Africa , Sri Lanka has an ongoing test series in Pakistan, the English team is currently playing a series in the West Indies and the Indian team is in New Zealand for a full complement of tests, ODIs and T20 matches. What more could one ask for, it’s a veritable cricket feast of cricket news and cricket coverage!
The South Africans have a point to prove to the touring Aussie side. Having humbled the Aussie on their home turf and having toppled them from the top spot in ODIs, they will be keen to continue the good work and keep up their winning streak. They will also want that coveted top spot in test cricket. The wounded Aussies for their part won’t take anything lying down so we shall have a showdown of massive proportions! This Aussie tour of South Africa will certainly be the contest to watch out for in terms of thrills and sheer high octane cricket excitement! The other contest that is much awaited is the Indian tour of New Zealand that has come after a long gap and in which the Indian team has a point to make. After a drought of some 33 years without a series win in New Zealand, the Indians want to make sure that this series tells a different tale that bucks a 33 year old trend. The Kiwis being no walk overs however will hardly allow the Indians to do so without putting up a good fight. There 2 T20 matches, 3 tests and 5 ODIs in store for fans of international cricket the world over! Having recently doled out to the Pakistanis their worst ever ODI defeat, the Lankans will be looking to continue the good work in their current test series against the Pak team. The Pakistanis, under the leadership of their new captain however are likely to be looking for vengeance against the humiliation meted out by the Sri Lankans. Another exciting contest brewing! The ongoing English tour of the West Indies started out with the former as clear favourites. The tables however really turned on them when the English team was meted out an innings defeat by a resurgent West Indian side that is showing some sparks of their days of bygone glory. Having been scuttled out of just 51 runs in the first test, they will certainly be looking to salvage some pride. So all in all everyone is playing cricket and the cricket fan has no reason to complain!
