The wax statue of Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar will be unveiled at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in April according to reports. He will be featured in a pose celebrating his 41st Test century that he scored against England in Chennai in December 2008.
If the legendary Madame Tussauds did at long last decide that Indian sportspersons were worthy of representation, then it is fitting that India’s most beloved sports star be picked to be immortalised in wax. So according to the latest cricket news, The wax statue of Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar will be unveiled at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in April, the first Indian sportsperson to be featured in one of London's famous tourist attraction. He will join other international cricket players such as Vivian Richards, Shane Warne and Brian Lara whose wax statues already grace the museum. "We are delighted to confirm our next Indian superstar is going to be Sachin Tendulkar; his achievements on the cricket pitch are phenomenal and he is one of the biggest names in international sport," Liz Edwards, Madame Tussauds PR manager was reported in the cricket news as having said. There is an interactive Sports Zone in the museum featuring David Beckham, Mohammed Ali, Tiger Woods and Jesse Owens, in Madame Tussauds where Sachin will also be featured. Reportedly there will also be a cricketing challenge around the introduction of the figure, where guests can test their cricketing skills against the Master Blaster. There are many Indians that already grace the museum: political leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and P V Narasimha Rao have been featured; as have prominent persons from the film industry such as Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan. Sachin will however be the first sportsperson from India.
