It could not have got much bad than this. Now it has been informed that the Bangladesh team does not want that Pakistan should visit its country to play a series. It would indeed be a monumental crisis for the Pakistan team, as when the neighboring country Bangladesh has postponed tour of Pakistan to its country, taking cue from this, none of the other teams where Pakistan is supposed to travel would be interested to get along with it.
Who would have thought that even Bangladesh who are minions in the game of cricket and who would be eager to latch up every opportunity to play with the big daddies like Pakistan refuse the same. But that is what has happened in actuality. When your life is in danger nobody would have this thought in his mind to play the game of cricket. This inspite of the country that Bangladesh would be on the home turf and Pakistan would be touring Bangladesh. The reason for canceling the tour, as per the Bangladesh Cricket Board was the current political situation in Bangladesh. The board arrived at this decision based on the advice of the government, and no new dates were announced. The Pakistan team was scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on Saturday for two Twenty20 matches and five one-day internationals. It indeed is ironic that the match was to take place in Bangladesh has been postponed on account of security reasons. Though the tour has been postponed, Pakistan Cricket Board chief operating officer Salim Altaf said informed that he was not aware when would the tour materialize again. He was however informed that the tour has been postponed. The Bangladesh cricket Board has announced no new dates for the tournament. The postponement is fallout of the Tuesday's terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka team in Pakistan, which killed six police officers and a driver as well as injuring seven members of the Sri Lanka touring party. When Bangladesh has picked up the gauntlet and cancelled the matches to be played against Pakistan, it is not an ominous portent. Pakistan could become a pariah if the international matches are cancelled with such sickening regularity. The apprehensions are being expressed by ex-Pakistan players that Pakistan may become such an outcast that it may not get invitation even to play in other countries as well. Bangladesh is a live testimony to the way the cookies may crumble.
