Who knew that the Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa was such a great fan of Indian Mysticism! It was on his advice that the Sri Lankan Sports Ministry has decided to import a “Swami Ji” from India, who would help the traumatized players come back to their normal state if mind. Here’s a report.
In the true bolt from the blue style, the Pakistani terrorists pumped in dozens bullets in the bodies of unassuming Sri Lanka cricketers. It was a bizarre blow to the international cricket and the three players from the visiting teams had to undergo surgery with the possibilities of jeopardizing their cricket career in the upcoming days. No wonder, the players are in a state of shock, and even the most extra ordinary surgeon in the world can not repair the scar in their minds caused by the suddenness of the event. Now it is the turn of the doctors of other kind to take over as Sri Lankan sports ministry churns out a detailed mental boost program for its valuable cricketers, who suffered the blow of militant attack in Pakistan. Physical injuries have been taken care of; Ajantha Mendis, Thilan Samaraweera, Tharanga Paranavitana along with their assistant coach Paul Farbrace are all recovering well and will be discharged from the hospital soon. But when they will get back to international cricket will depend on how fast they get over the mental agony caused by the tragedy. And this is why, the sports ministry is emphasizing on mental healing. “On the advice of the Sri Lankan President Mahindra Rajapaksa we have invited and getting a swami ji from India to give mental boost (to the players),” Director General of Sports Ministry Medical Unit, Dr. Geethanjana Mendis said on Saturday night. However, the identity of the Swami ji has not been disclosed yet. However the entire infinitive is designed to “correct the mind and get them back into the cricket field as soon as possible,” Dr. Mendis pointed out. With Pakistani militants pinning them down to hospital beds, it will now be Indian holy man’s responsibility to drag them back to the international cricket. It will now be the close encounter between positive and negative, triggering off a clash of another kind between the traditional rivals in the sub continent.
