Reaching the international cricket arena is a dream of every aspiring cricketer and also was the dream of the upcoming cricket player MSK Prasad. No sport is as popular in the Indian subcontinent as is cricket and the players of the game are regarded as demigods. No one ever knew that the little boy Mannava Sri Kanth Prasad born on April 24 1975 in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh would make it to the Indian cricket news.  Cricket360 tells us that this boy was born 15 kms away from Guntur and was educated in Guntur. He was the first cricketer to represent team India from Andhra Pradesh and make the breaking news in the state. The elegant cricketer now announced his retirement recently.

It was May 14 1998, when India was playing Bangladesh at Mohali in the Coca –Cola Triangular series the then 23-year-old MSK Prasad made his debut in international cricket and Andhra was proud of him. Nayan Mongia was injured after the 1999 World Cup, Prasad took over and played six tests and some ODI’s. The latest cricket news was that he was he was even better than Nayan Mongia. However he could not tickle the cricket score with the bat and was dropped.  

At the Cricket 360 there is a description of the 2002-03 season, which was his best. His cricket scorecard had 754 runs, including two hundreds and five half-centuries, and effected 32 dismissals from 11 matches. His cricket score averaged over 40 with the bat. This Guntur lad played 17 matches scored 131 runs. His highest cricket score was 63 and he played six tests with an average of 11.78.

Now At 33 years of age, MSK Prasad announced his retirement from all forms of the game. He has been appointed as the Director, Cricket Operations to the ACA (Andhra Cricket Association) He is now earnestly working to search the talent amongst   the upcoming cricket players In Andhra.
