Don't MissClive Lloyd, the caption of the West Indies cricket team when WI cricket was in its Golden Era, is appointed as the new chairman of the ICC cricket committee.
This happens after the former ICC cricket committee chairman Sunil Gavaskar had stepped down from the post. The reason behind the incident was that the ICC had asked Gavaskar to choose between his chairmanship and his career as cricket commentator and media columnist. The other person in the race of the chairmanship was Pakistan’s Majid Khan. It is believed that Majid Khan has lost the race because of his criticism of the Pakistan board on the sacking of Saleem Altaf, a senior PCB official. Clive Lloyd is connected with the game in different forms throughout his life. During his cricket life, as a player and caption and after his retirement from the international cricket, he worked as a manager, match-referee and administrator. Lloyd has been working as an ICC match referee for many years now. He was first appointed as match referee in 1992. And after serving many years as the West Indies team manager, he resumed his job as a referee in 2003. After getting the news of his selection as ICC cricket committee chairman Lloyd admitted that he was very happy about the news and added that his experience in of all the levels of the game would be useful for serving his duties. Clive Lloyd will now work with following members in ICC cricket committee:
