Cricket360 has exclusive IPL cricket news that Shah Rukh Khan is flying out to South Africa today and will be addressing a press conference later today. It would appear that Shah Rukh Khan is doing everything right for his IPL team, the Kolkata Knight Riders, to get them the pre-tournament visibility and publicity that only a celebrity of his stature can obtain so effortlessly. So whether it is the new Sprite TV commercial or the ongoing John Buchanan / Sunil Gavaskar cricket controversy about the former’s rotating captain theory.
You know what they say in showbiz, there is no such thing as bad publicity. The currently ongoing spat between the KKR coach, team owner SRK and Sunil Gavaskar is something that has put the KKR team firmly in the spotlight and the reason for that spotlight becomes immaterial and even something like this is turned to an advantage. Cricket360 now has exclusive reports that SRK is flying to South Africa and will be addressing a press conference later tonight. He will likely be addressing all the issues that the KKR team is currently facing. SRK will likely be asked to field questions about the knotty cricket controversy where he had politely asked Sunil Gavaskar to go buy a team if he wanted to give his opinions and theories in T20 cricket which he has never even played. According to reports SRK will be addressing a press conference at approximately 10 PM IST. What is also likely to be discussed at tonight’s press conference and what has also caused ripples in the cricket news is the fact that King Khan is to be shifting loyalties, from the Pepsi camp to the Coke camp. Whereas Khan has been the face of Pepsi for years and famously went on record to say that he drank no water but lived on Pepsi, the cricket news is now buzzing with his shifting loyalties. Khan who can always be relied on for a memorable sound bite said “They have thrown me out, I am jobless”. Doubtless Khan now endorsing a rival brand’s product will grab eyeballs and gain the KKR some more publicity. Reportedly KKR’s one-fourth captain Sourav Ganguly and Ishant Sharma are also part of the new Sprite ad. We will keep you posted about the developments in the KKR camp and will bring you more cricket news from King Khan’s Durbar.
