Numerous times Shane Warne fell into controversies that proved nothing but a   spot on his glorious career. This report is trying to bring forth all the scandals and controversies which bothered this legendary cricketer. 

The world knows him as the greatest leg spinner; he has made world records; he has won many awards; he is one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Century, but this is not all about Shane Keith Warne. This Australian Cricketer made the world bow before his talent when in his first test match in 1992 he set the record for taking most wickets in any test cricket. And the journey of his glorious career began. This ‘Flipper King’ was basking under his glory until it was marred by his not so accepted off and on field scandals. His controversial side went along flipping him with his flippers flipping others. He always got a mix response from his fans and was hated and loved for the reasons.

 Shane Warne’s encounter with the controversies started when he was accused to help a bookie, named John of an Indian origin, in getting some confidential information about the team. It was found that he supplied some important information of the team during the Singer World Series in Sri Lanka in September 1994 and in the following Ashes Series. Having been convicted in the case he was fined $ 8,000.

He again went into a scandal for his ill behavior and the comments against the Sri Lankan Captain Arjuna Ranatuna during 1999 World Cup in England. He was criticized for his comments and slammed for his indecency. He was also charged for spoiling the image of the game. But it was not a long hiatus when again he fell into a drug scandal in February 2003 during Cricket World Cup in Australia. He was sent back to the home as he found positive for an illegal drug Diuretic before the start of the game. Australian Cricket Board found him guilty and put a one year ban on him.

Warne’s scandals were not restricted to the cricket fields only. His personal life was also criticized for his infidelity and reckless behavior.  His alleged relationships with other women brought ill fame and disrepute to his personal life. He was blamed for sending vulgar and disgraceful messages to one Helen Cohen Alon of South Africa. He got a tag for having extra marital affairs which resulted in discord with his wife Simone Callahan and it brought storms in his personal life. His obscene photograph with modals, published in the News of the World Tabloid Newspaper on May 7, 2006 also not liked by his fans and they declared it shameful.

 It is true that the scandals overshadowed his glittering career from time to time but that did not last long. And it is his charm only that despite all these controversies Shane Warne is known for his game and not for his scandals in the Cricket World.
