Included in the squad is off-spinner Johan Botha, who recently underwent analysis on his bowling in Australia. The 27 year old was reported for a suspect bowling action against Australia in the recently completed one day series. His results are expected in two weeks time. He was previously reported in January 2006 and served a suspension before having his action re-evaluated.

Also included in the team is star batsman Jacques Kallis, who has only played in four T20 internationals with a highest score of 20. However, he has been in brilliant form for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in this season’s IPL with 220 runs from seven games and a highest score of 69 not out.

“I am delighted with the squad the selectors have given me. It has plenty of options, great depth to the batting and plenty of bowling options. It is also an outstanding fielding unit,” Mickey Arthur, coach of the South African team said in a news release.

Left arm bowler Yusuf Abdulla, who has set the IPL alight for the Kings XI Punjab was also included in the squad. “It’s an honour to represent your country in any format and hope to do the best I can,” said Abdulla.

Abdulla, who was a late replacement for Jerome Taylor of the West Indies, is the leading wick-taker in the IPL with 14 wickets after seven games will join up with the South African team at the end of May.
