From Jalandhar to Johannesburg and Delhi to Durban - cricket sells everywhere. And Hindi movies sell better when they have got a cricketish finishing touch. In past as well as in the recent times, a number of leading directors and actors joined hands to produce great cricket movies. Some of them bombed, but most of them clicked. With twenty-20 flavor heavily in the air, those in film business want to cash in on its frenzy till it lasts. So Imtiaz Ali, the celebrated director of run away hit, ‘Jab We Met’ chose London to be the venue for gala promotion of his next ambitious venture, ‘Love Aaj Kal’, starring Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan.

In a smart marketing move, the promotion of Deepika-Saif starrer is going to experience a planned coincide with the world twenty-20 championship in June. There could be no better timing for the campaigning than this, when the whole world will be glued to the television screen for catching up some jet set cricket. The marketers are particularly cashing in the fact that as the reigning champions, Indian side will attract special attention from the cricket audience. So pack up a few Bollywood punches in between and you are bound to hit the jackpot.

And you know what! Deepika Padukone is going to debut in a new role during this campaigning. She is going to take the microphone for a bit of cricket commentary. As confirmed by the news in the London cricket circle, you are sure to find the pretty actress in the commentary box during the upcoming cricket T20 World championship. She is going to join the team as a guest commentator. The actress, with a strong sports lineage and a good athlete herself, is sure to make something more meaningful at the box than a mere glam-doll. If her own background proves insufficient for making a good cricket commentator out of her, then her past relationships with leading cricketers - Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh - would definitely help.

So once the tournament kicks off in England, the international cricket starts will have to put double efforts to get the attention back on the pitch from the commentary box. After all, it is not often that cricket commentary becomes a matter of visual satisfaction. So when Deepika etches it out off pitch and her ex flames on the pitch, it is to be seen how the current flame in her life - that is Ranbir Kapoor, takes it in his stride.

We can say for sure, it is going to be a pretty exciting drama, particularly when it comes in a complete package of crisp English summer and famous English strawberries with cream!
