IPL team Rajasthan Royals’ right arm fast bowler Amit Singh has been reported for suspect action for the second time in the IPL by on field umpires.

It was only on May 7th that he was reported for the first time in a game between team Rajasthan and Royal Challengers Bangalore at Centurion.  Daryl Harper and K Hariharan, the umpires for the match believed that he had a suspect action on specific deliveries. On going through the video replays with TV umpire Tyron Wijewardene later, it was decided that his action does need additional examination. It was then reported to the IPL's technical committee and team Rajasthan’s management, in accordance with the Laws that oversee the game.

It was decided that the 27 year old bowler would continue to play for the Rajasthan Royals till he is actually proven guilty.

Now on Saturday in a match against the Chennai Super Kings in Kimberley, on field umpires Gary Baxter and Kumar Dharmasena reported Amit for the second time. At the end of the match, video footages were thoroughly examined by the umpires and officials concerned, including third umpire Amiesh Saheba. And once again it was confirmed that his action needs further scrutiny. They claimed in a statement after the match that further action was essential under the Laws of Cricket section 24.3.

Amit Singh has been crucial to the Rajasthan Royals in their run in the second season of the Premier League. Shane Warne applauded his bowling in included him in the team, and to back his claims the youngster went on to take seven wickets in 2 games. Against Bangalore he won the man of the match award with figures of 4 for 19. He is Rajasthan Royals’ third-highest wicket-taker with eight wickets from three matches at a run rate of 6.62.

Interestingly the only other player in the second season to be reported for suspect bowling action is Kamran Khan, also from the Rajasthan Royals.
