A source close to the Shah Rukh Khan owned team is quoted saying: “We touched base with him (Waugh) during his recent India visit. He will prove to be a great asset because of his exceptional cricketing abilities and long connection with Calcutta through his charitable project. He will be a good mascot.”
But there are others who deny that Waugh will even consider the post. Some said that the legend maintained he wouldn’t want to get back to cricket in any form. And Jeet Banerjee, who heads Calcutta-based sports management company Gameplan, said: “How can he take up a coaching job? Where does he have the time? He has his charity, his business.”
But the Knight Riders’ source insists that “He is certainly open to the idea, but his other commitments are weighing on his mind at this stage. Our negotiations are on.”
Meanwhile, the fake
IPL blogger continues to frazzle everybody’s nerves with his foot-in-the-mouth comments on the KKR. His latest blog post comments on the controversies that KKR seems eternally embroiled in saying, “if there was an IPL for off-field screw ups, we'd have won pads down.”
After KKR found itself under the scanner for match fixing allegations, FIP writes: “Why would someone pay us to lose a match when we are doing the same for free? Anyway, all these allegations are bollocks. It's just a way for some officials & their families to get free tickets and stay for the semis-finals weekend.”
In addition he has another poll underway. After the first on whether he should reveal his identity received a whopping response in the positive, he has put up another poll asking readers to guess who he might be.
