It seems that England's campaign for the ICC World Twenty 20 Cup is not being initiated on an ominous note. There are reports that Andrew Flintoff may not be match fit to play in the tournament. It could become a distinct possibility as Flintoff has informed the authorities that he is yet to start running after undergoing the surgery on his knees.
Flintoff had sustained injury to his knees during his maiden appearance in the Indian Premier League in the Second season in South Africa. He had played only three matches sin the tournament and he was not able to come up with a creditable performance. England have to find a replacement for Andrew Flintoff fast as he may not be able to play in the ICC World Twenty Cup going to take place in England in the month of June. He still is in the recuperation zone after getting his knee operated. Though he has been named in the squad, as Flintoff has himself raised doubts about his fitness, England would have to look for his replacement quickly. Though he has a desire to play, Flintoff also is aware about the fact that it could be too tight and become arduous for him and could impel his future. England's Twenty20 captain, Paul Collingwood, has a sense of despair about the unavailability of Flintoff and he considers him to be equivalent to two players rolled into one. But Collingwood was hopeful that his team would be able to cope with it.Flintoff has been off late rather being irregular in the English squad on account of his injuries. Could it beg the question that he may cut down on his weight to reduce the burden on his knees when he jumps in the stride to bowl the ball?
