According to breaking cricket news a Cricket Bowling Specialist and Biokineticist report was presented the Indian Premier League’s Technical Committee and on that basis, Rajasthan Royals bowler Amit Singh has been cleared to continue playing in the IPL. Based on this report, the bowler what permitted to play last night’s match against the Delhi Daredevils however, the report is provisional and stated that said if reported again, he would be restricted from playing for a year.
Amit Singh’s match winning performance against the Bangalore Royals Challengers on 7 May was when he was reported for a suspect bowling action by the on-field umpires Daryl Harper and K Hariharan and recommended for further action as per international cricket laws. Umpires Gary Baxter and Kumar Dharmasena also cited Amit's action as suspect while bowling certain deliveries during the game against Chennai in Kimberley on 9 May. Amit has taken eight wickets in four matches at a notable economy-rate of 5.42 and was declared man of the match for his 4 for 19 in the match against Bangalore. A report has now been given by Professor Tim Noakes (Human Movement Expert), Dr Kerith Aginsky (Cricket Bowling Specialist / Biokineticist) and Dr Michele van Rooyen (Video Analysis Specialist) from the Department of Human Biology (UCT/MRC Research Unit for Exercise Science & Sports Medicine) Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Cape Town. For the purposes of preparing the report, Amit Singh required to extend his arm from the arm horizontal position and consistently flex his elbow again prior to ball release, thus not constituting a throw for each kind of delivery. Therefore, for all deliveries the elbow angles reported are of the amount of elbow flexion and not extension between arm horizontal to ball release. Since the report has now indicated that the elbow flexion is within permissible limits, Singh can now represent his team in the DLF IPL 2009. Earlier the IPL Technical Committee had recommended a two week rehabilitation and biomechanic tests for Amit Singh, now however with the tests carried out putting him in the clear; he is permitted to revert to playing for his team in the IPL.
