A nine runs loss in a T20 practice match against Kiwis, that too without a match winning performance from the Kiwi Team and the media – the experts start worrying about Team India.
Team India playing without two of its aces – Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan, both spearheads of Indian batting and bowling departments and the failure of their match winners – Yusuf Pathan and Gautam Gambhir, have the least to worry from this loss against the Kiwis. The Positives for Team India from the Practice Match 1 against Kiwis:
The Worries for Team India till now in T20 World Cup:
So at present there is not much trouble for team India as they have the balance as the positives and negatives equate, similar to the case of other teams. The only difference India and South Africa have in the T20 World Cup is the extra edge – India has the surprise element where as the Proteas have the strength of all-rounders. India will play under dogs Pakistan today in the last practice match of T20 World Cup and the recent performance of Pakistan against Proteas in a practice match was below average rather poor. This match is projected as the marketing tool for crowd pulling by the ICC and also as a charity game since the match collection will be used for the purpose of charity (both teams will donate their share too). Going forward in the T20 World Cup 2009, India has Bangladesh and Ireland in its group, forming the most easiest group for one of the strong international teams which is not only T20 expert but defending champs too. Bangladesh performance has been quite good in the practice matches where as Ireland has disappointed. So, Team India will look forward to achieve the desired start in the tournament with an aspiration of retaining the championship title. Will the initial cakewalk take team India to the top notch again? Let us wait and watch!
