The draw for T20 Champions League 2009, scheduled to be held in London on June 23 has been postponed and the organisers of the tournament, with the Chief Mr. Lalit Modi, haven’t announced the fresh dates as yet.
Also 10 out of the 12 teams have been finalised and the two teams from England which are scheduled to take part in the tournament will be known only after England Cricket Board’s (ECB) Domestic T20 Cup Finalists are confirmed. The organisers are also looking at the possibility of hosting matches in Mumbai among other venues. Plans to host a few matches at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil stadium are also on cards, though nothing has been finalised as yet. The ICC rules say that to protect the commercial interests and exclusivity of the venue rights, no event can be held at the same venue as that of an ICC tournament after 10 days of its completion.
