What do you think, Andrew Symonds will be doing after he quits international cricket! He is definitely not the one to settle down with designing male undies! He is cut for things speedier and harsher. This cricket360 article takes a humorous take on the symond’s life beyond international cricket.Unruly is the word that perfectly defines Australian cricketer Symond off and on-pitch. For the spectators of live cricket, Symonds means good deal of adrenaline rush. Because he is a merciless six-hitter and does so with so much gusto that time and again he attempts a sixer out of the wrong ball. Still it is Andrew Symonds who has under his belt a batting average of 40.37 from 193 ODIs, can make sixteen sixes in one match to make a world record and make the audience of international cricket go wow with his impossible display of catching and fielding. Of course, Symonds cares a dam about his personal records…he claims he does it for his team. Only if he could stop giving tough times to Cricket Australia--- with Andrew Symonds, discipline has always remained a problem. But when the geniuses could be put into chains? So Symonds goes on with his drinking binges, night outs and of course his angling exploits. Of course he has his defenders in the team---Michael Clarke, the acting captain and Ricky Ponting the injured captain. But even the staunchest supporter in the team has now given up hope! After all how could he do it? Go fishing and making merry with his girl friend when he was supposed to sit grim-faced in an official team meeting! And to add insult to injury, appearing drunk latter that day when his team mates were shedding sweats in a voluntary training session! Well, Symonds has always remained difficult to handle, but this time the Australian official team consisting of captain Michael Clarke, vice-captain Mike Hussey, coach Tim Nielsen and team manager Steve Bernard was at their wit’s end and packed him off to Queensland from the three-match series against Bangladesh in Darwin. This is what Symonds views as utter rough handling by his CA bosses and so he has almost decided saying good bye to international cricket! But at thirty three he can not stay altogether out of active sports and why should he? Cricket Australia might have doubts about Symond’s mental wellness, but his physical agility is beyond any doubts. As he stops wearing the green jersey for Australia, his $500,000 worth CA contract will be terminated, but there are a number of vocations that perfectly suits the physique and persona of Andrew Symonds and can still help him earn millions! He could as well reinvent himself as a rugby guy. Back in 2002 he even contacted the Brisbane Broncos coach Wayne Bennett to talk about the possibility of switching to rugby League! Fast and aggressive, he has all the materials to excel as a Rugby player. A keen angler, he can make it big in the seas too! Already a multi-millionaire, thanks to cricket, he has the ready resource to click it off as a fish-tycoon! Some of his colleagues going into fashion, delving into fishing business doesn’t seem a bad idea at all--- after all fighting it out in the high seas against big fishes is a macho thing and fits the bill of Symonds too perfectly! He can even have his fishing buddy Matthew Hayden as the partner in his fishing business! By the way, he can even be a consultant with any top rated swimming club. Few knows about symond’s swimming prowess; back in 1999, in another fishing fiasco, he and his buddy Hayden had to swim back to shore following the sinking of their boat off Stradbroke Island. And what if he quits international cricket? With Indian Premier League in its pace, Symonds can always make millions by playing in this Indian domestic cricket league. At the Indian Premier League auction, he sold for a record breaking US$1.35m, and remained the most popular player of the tournament despite playing just four matches for the Deccan Chargers. With so many options open, now Symonds has to decide what path to choose. Will he end up in the arms of CA officials to help him turn out to be a boring, elite cricketer or will he chose to run the fast track and do all things macho? What will be the fate of Australian cricket team minus Symonds is a matter of serious cricket---let us do some chuckling around mulling over Symonds’ role as a rugby toughy or fish merchant while Symonds go soul searching!
