The Hindi film heroines don’t seem to mind too much if the man (read cricketer) of their choice is a married man or a father. They have earned quite a consistent reputation as marriage wreckers so far as cricketers are concerned! Ask Sangeeta Bijlani or Nagma! Azaharuddin used to be a devoted father and a doting husband until he met the starlet called Sangeeta Bijlani and the rest of the story is known to everybody. Now the ex-skipper of India routinely graces the filmy functions as Mr Sangeeta Bijlani.

It was not long ago, cricket news exploded the scoop that Ganguly was going around with South sensation, Nagma. But Dona turned out to be more capable in dealing with his drifting husband than Azhar’s wife and so Nagma was sent back to the pavilion and Dona is still batting and touch-wood---batting well.

Actually the ‘EK Phool Do Mali’ concept has always been a favorite with film makers of Bombay film industry and it goes too well with the audience too. The stories of infidelity and infatuation with the jilted lover sneaking around behind his lady love and the charmer finally walking away with the trophy---have all the ingredients of a blockbuster. In the Hindi movies, the jealous lovers who finally fail to make it are typically up to break it---either ruin the girl or ruin yourself!

Now Bret Lee---the Australian speedster seems to be inspired by the popular Hindi movie theme---after all he is now the part of Bombay film fraternity! Victory---Lee’s maiden Bollywood attempt is soon to open in the theaters across the country. In this film he shares the screen with latest sensation Harman Baweja and Amrita Rao. 

The film revolves round nation’s favorite theme---struggling cricketer and his journey to success. Here Bret Lee plays himself in the movie. And he has a meaty role---he even sings with the heroine in the film! In the personal front, in true Hindi filmy style he first condemned his wife of having an affair with a Brisbane based Rugby player and in a true filmy villain style he also hinted that the affair was not exactly of a Platonic kind---he found out Liz making secret trips to Queensland as he remained busy with his numerous assignments. Now he had enough ground for walking off the marriage that no longer seems to be interesting enough to stick to.

Liz Kemp, a podiatrist by profession was not the one to take the allegation coolly. Though initially tried to keep silence, Kemp and her friends latter took to straighten the things out and made it clear that it was not Liz that walked out of the marriage but it was Bret himself that made things too messy for the marriage to sustain. Liz said she was devastated by the sudden turn of the events.

Launching designer undies range, starring in Bollywood film, singing duet with Asha Bhoshle---Bret Lee seems to have his hands full with everything but cricket! And now the personal life disaster---he is not going to play in the forthcoming three match series against Bangladesh. It seems Australia is going to have a tough time in Bangladesh. Bret lee will not be there, Australia has to do without its regular captain, for Ponting will be away nursing to his wrist wounds and Matthew Hayden is going to open despite his persisting Achilles injury.

With Champion’s Trophy most probably shifted to 2009, the Test tour to India is going to be Australia’s next. And Bret Lee is a darling of India! Music, movie, fashion and now the crisis in personal life—is cricket taking a backseat in this Australian fast bowler’s life?  Let’s see if Lee can get over from the marital blues by this time and make a sensational come back in the forthcoming India-Australia series in true filmy style! Who can say he may find one of the Bollywood bombshells for nursing to his wounds---after all Bollywood heroines are too fond of cricketers and Bret Lee is too desirable to resist!
