The cricket fans thronged the stadiums and had their eyes glued to the live scoreboard as the host Canada played against West Indies and Bermuda. Cricket360 provided the latest cricket updates and cricket scores in the series.

The West Indies did win and it gave a boost to the growth of cricket in the region. The budding Canada and Bermuda cricket teams got the much needed exposure.

The first cricket match opened on 18 August between Canada and the excitement was evident on the faces of the cricket fans who wanted to see more and more live cricket. Bermuda batting second could manage a cricket score of 235/8 in 50 overs and lost as the Canada scorecard proudly read 260/7. Canada showed an awesome performance and K. Jethi became the man of the match. The following match between West Indies and Bermuda was a pretty one sided game as the mighty West Indies reached their target cricket score of 159 in just 31.5 overs losing only 4 wickets.

In the most awaited cricket match, host nation played West Indies on August 22. West Indies amassed 303/4 in 50 overs and Canada trailed by 49 runs losing the match yet not very easily. The two teams had already booked their berths in the forthcoming cricket finals.

The finals were played between Canada and West Indies and as expected West Indies cricket team won by 7 wickets. Cricket fans at Cricket360 were enthralled by the performance of Chris Gayle who hit 14 fours and 6 sixes in just 77 balls to reach a cricket score of an unbeaten 110 runs. The Canada Cricket team could only muster 179 runs in 46.5 overs which the opponents chased in just 27.3 overs. Canada’s cricket player Riz Cheema entertained the fans by hitting 61 off 45 balls and quite deservedly he was declared man of the series.

So the West Indies cricket team won as anticipated. They did not meet strong opposition yet it helped the team to recover from their home defeat by Australians. Also they got the much needed match practise as first class cricket was not currently happening in the Caribbean. The performances from the young players from Canada and Bermuda was promising and shall be worth watching in the upcoming cricket matches.
