India won the match and the series in a most admirable fashion as they trounced upon the visitors with a 172-run victory. Needing 382 to win, they were all out for 209. Australia batted the entire day adding only 166 runs to their total. Simon Katich made 102 and Mike Hussey made 90. Harbhajan Singh clinched three wickets while Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra got two wickets each. India leads Australia by 86 runs as they come to bat tomorrow.
