There is a lot of controversy going on in the Sri Lankan Cricket Board about the ban that was issued on the players who had joined the ICL. The ban was partially removed later and was accepted in positive light by various cricket icons.
The interim governing body of Sri Lankan Cricket Board, led by Arjuna Ranatunga has finally softened its stand against their national players who had earlier joined the rebel Indian Cricket League. The recent cricket news said that the players, who were banned from all forms of cricket for playing in the various ICL Cricket Teams, were finally allowed to play domestic cricket. Cricket rumors suggest that the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) was offended by such an approach by the Sri Lankan Cricket Board. Former Cricket Captain of Sri Lanka Marvan Attapattu was overwhelmed by the decision of the board. He said that all forms of cricket should be treated equally. Like IPL, even the ICL is a contender for World Cup Cricket with wide coverage of cricket live score covering the cricket score in different matches. The cricket rumors suggested that the bans on the cricket players were removed after careful thought and that too only partially. They were allowed to play in Domestic Cricket Team, whereas the ban on playing international cricket still remained. However, there was no such ban on players joining IPL because it is recognized by the international authority of cricket. The IPL matches which were held in high esteem as a form of World Cup Cricket had a wide coverage in Cricket360 with updated cricket live scores. According to the recent cricket news the stand taken up by Arjuna Ranatunga has called for much controversy as it has not gained world wide acceptance in the cricketing federation. ICL Players are very happy with the result, as many of them have already started participating in different cricketing activities. Many cricketing icons even said that the Sri Lankan Board should not have supported the stand of BCCI.
