The Season 2 of ICL kicked off on 10th October with a lot of excitement. Although, ICL is not considered legal in international cricket, it has received a warm welcome headed by Kapil Dev and Team.

Hyderabad has been the venue for ICL. The entire cricket coverage was taken over by Ten Sports . Delhi Giants faced Ahmedabad Rockets on 12th October. It was a crucial encounter with full of interest and excitement till the last over.

Ahmedabad Rockets won the toss and Martyn decided to field first. Delhi giants opened the batting slowly and steadily. The openers were dismissed at the end of the 7th over. The run rate was 7 per over. Then a steady partnership grew and the middle order of Delhi giants contributed to the score. The next wicket fell in the 13th over when the cricket score was 89. Till now, the run rate was around 7 per over.

The day belonged to Nixon, who sky rocketed the run rate with four massive sixes. The fourth wicket fell in the 16th over with a cricket score of 133. Nixon played a gem of an innings scoring 43 runs off just 24 balls. Nixon was dealing in sixes and he was bowled by streak when the cricket score was 155. Nixon played the winning knock for Delhi giants, who managed to post a cricket score of 167 runs at the end of their innings. The bowling figures of Ahmedabad Rockets were not impressive with Gillespie taking 2 wickets and Streak with 3 wickets. It was a disciplined performance from streak.

Ahmedabad Rockets started their innings chasing a formidable and competitive target of 168 at the rate of 8.35 runs per over. Ahmedabad Rockets had a shaky start losing their opener Campbell in the first over with just 1 run on the board. Soon, in the 3rd over, Ahmedabad Rockets lost their Captain Martyn which was a huge blow. The opening bowlers Srivastava and Sudhindra bowled in strict line and length providing the initial break through.

The middle order of Ahmedabad Rockets put up a steady performance with Aziz scoring 48 off 37 balls and Sodhi remaining unbeaten on 50 off just 25 balls with 3 boundaries and four sixes. Sodhi was the only man to score 50 in the cricket match. The match was evenly poised until the 16th over when wickets started felling for Ahmedabad Rockets. Sodhi had no one to support as the wickets were falling continuously.
 
Ahmedabad Rockets put up a cricket score of 154 runs for the loss of 9 wickets at the end of their innings. Sodhi was impressive in his batting performance. Finally, the match went in favour of Delhi Giants and they won the match by a margin of 13 runs taking away 2 points. Nixon was declared the man of the match for his decisive knock.
