Review of the opening day’s play of the 2nd test between South Africa and Australia being played at MCG. After being criticized brutally for his body language in the first test against Proteas, Ponting fought back strongly with an indeed ton that also helped Aussies to build a comfortable score of 280/6 at stumps on the first day of the 2nd test. Katich (54) and Haddin (40) too contributed admirably for the batting side. Proteas but, still hold the key as they could edge out Haddin in the last over.

South Africa stunned Australia in the Perth test posting a record win. South Africa managed to win the match from an impossible situation and chased down 414 runs. The record breaking run chase amazed the Australians and the spectator’s world wide. Australia had the upper hand over South Africa on all days of the Perth test except the last and final day.

The third day of the first test match between South Africa and Australia was crucial for both the sides’ comments Cricket360. The third day started with South African cricket score of 243 runs for the loss of 8 wickets with Boucher and Steyn batting in the crease. Boucher showed some resistance but eventually the innings came to a close with 281 runs on the board. South Africa scored 38 runs in the morning session and Johnson managed to add one more wicket to his tally and took 8 wickets. South Africa gave Australia a lead of 94 runs in the first innings.
