The 9th ICL Match between Ahmedabad Rockets and Mumbai Champs was covered by Cricket360. Mumbai Champs won the toss and elected to bat first.
Astle, the Mumbai Champs captain batting form has been poor through out the season and also in the previous season. Instead, Astle is performing well in bowling department. Mumbai Champs had a bad opening and lost the first wicket for just 5 runs on the board. From then on, wickets were falling at regular intervals and Ahmedabad Rockets were on the rampage claiming wicket each over. Taufeeq Umar, the opening batsman played slowly and gathered 31 run’s. The middle order of Mumbai Champs failed miserably and was in a position to finish their innings with a cricket score below 100. Hasan Raza steadied the Mumbai Champs innings but did not play the big shots. Mumbai Champs were 78 for 6 at the end of the 16th over. From here on, Mumbai Champs went on to score 130 at the end of their innings. The last 3 overs were a nightmare for Ahmedabad Rockets as 52 runs were scored in these last overs. Vander wath was the aggressor for Mumbai Champs hitting 45 runs in just 15 balls including 3 boundaries and 4 huge sixes. Mumbai Champs recovered well in the last 3 overs and posted a decent cricket score of 130 runs with a big hand from Vander wath. Mumbai Champs left the pitch with a boost and self confidence. Ahmedabad Rockets bowling was highly disciplined and their opening bowlers were highly economical and provided the initial break through. Ahmedabad Rockets started their innings chasing a cricket score of 131 runs at the rate of 6.5 runs per over. Ahmedabad Rockets opener Campbell continued the blistering knock of the opposing team player Vander Wath and was in full form. Campbell was aggressive right from the start of the innings. Campbell scored 92 runs off 51 balls with 13 boundaries and 4 sixes. Cricket360 reports that Campbell took Ahmedabad Rockets to victory as a single man.
