Jerome Taylor gone up 11 places to number 6 in the ICC player rankings for test bowlers after his impressive showing at Sabina Park in the first test of the Wisden Trophy against England. This is the highest for any West Indies Test bowler since the retirement of Courtney Walsh in 2001. Sir Vivian Richards is hopeful that this will be the turning point for the West Indies for them to improve their current status in test cricket. |

Andrew Strauss now has what is known as the second toughest job in British sport; that of the captain of the English cricket team (apparently the toughest is football captain) and his has been a grim start. 51 all out. Scores of 23 for 7 wickets and only one player (Flintoff) managing to get into double figures. Five players got out on a duck…. Humiliating defeat indeed; not an auspicious start! |

Cricket360 review of the 4th day of the 1st test between West Indies and England at Kingston, Jamaica: in an incredible bowling spell West Indies’ Jerome Taylor struck with 5 for 11 in 9 overs, ultimately wrapping England’s innings for 51 runs, along with Benn who claimed 4 wickets. West Indies won the match by an innings and 23 runs, and lead the 4 match series 1-0. Jerome Taylor was named player of the match.

Cricket360 review of the 3rd day of the first test between West Indies and England at Kingston, Jamaica: The day saw some good cricket on a sluggish pitch as both Gayle (104) and Sarwan (107) scored centuries. The hosts ended at 352 for 7 with a 34 run lead. For England, Stuart Broad was the pick of the bowlers with 3 vital wickets.
