The 5th day of the Test between Bangladesh and New Zealand was quite exciting. Bangladesh was quite sure of winning this test and makes a second history. Its performance was consistence and was optimist of being a winner. However the participation of New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori turned the table upside down.
Cricket360 has discovered that, all these days Bangladesh was having the upper hand against New Zealand on the ground of Chittagong. The whole gaming strategy was exactly the way they wanted. The efforts were all very much noteworthy and the team was very close to win over the Test Series . The whole plan was however shattered by New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori. To the utter disappointment of Bangladesh, Vettori played so well that the dream got shattered. He made half a century and balanced both the sides. It was like the turning point of the whole Test Series. The team of Bangladesh was with all its high spirits on the 5th day and it very systematically restricted Redmond and then Ross Taylor to 212-4 till lunch time. Brendon McCullum was dismissed from the ground for just 2 runs and the team was in a better position till the ground was in charge of Vettori and Flynn.Vettori who was continuously performing great through out the series gave his master strokes with all calculations and brought his team mush closer to the opponent. During the Test Series Vettori, took nine wickets, and hit 76 runs and with his team reached 317 -7 the 5th day. Vettori, came up with his second half-century of the match at Chittagong, and shared 45 runs stand with Aaron Redmond and 82 with Daniel Flynn. Redmond was with 79 runs and Daniel Flynn contributed a hard luck of 49. It was the left-arm spinner of Bangladesh, Abdur Razzak, who finally picked up this strong contender, bringing the team to great relief. It was a very crucial wicket for Bangladesh and the team was overwhelmed by it. Though Vettori left ground when his team needed just 19runs to win, still he hit seven boundaries in 214 balls and got promoted to number four. As the team was close to win Flynn was caught by Shakib Al Hasan and finally it was Kyle Mills who managed to hit the last winning run. The New Zealand team wined up with Jacob Oram not out on eight and had the victory after four day tension. We can see that the skipper of Bangladesh team Mohammad Ashraful played all possible ways, even changed to second new ball after 83 overs, but all was in vain. Though Bangladesh could never beat a big Test-playing nation till date; except for Zimbabwe, performed much in this Test Series. This is clear signal that the next test that was to be played from 25th October is not going to be an escape for New Zealand. If they do not take Bangladesh seriously from the very first day then they are going to lose for sure. Cricket360 presumes that this time, both the teams are going to give each other tougher time and the Test Series is going to be a great hit for sure.
