Cricket360 reported the 14th ICL Match between Chennai Superstars and Hyderabad Heroes played at Sardar Vallabhai Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad. Chennai Superstars won the toss and chose to bat first. This match had a lot of expectations as both the sides are strong and formidable. Hyderabad Heroes went into the match as favourites as they have won all the games played so far.
Chennai Superstars opened their innings on a positive note. Harvey rocketed the cricket score with his aggressive batting. Chennai Superstars posted a cricket score of 70 runs in just 5 overs. Harvey was the man behind this rampage against Hyderabad Heroes. Harvey struck a fast 49 runs off 21 balls including 3 boundaries and 5 sixes. Harvey took 29 runs in Binny’s over. Harvey was dismissed by Reddy in the 5th over. The wicket of Harvey did not suppress the Chennai Superstars. They continued the aggressive innings but wickets were falling regularly. Chennai Superstars succumbed to the bowling of Hyderabad Heroes from the 8th over onwards when the cricket score was 92. From here on, Chennai Superstars lost wickets in each over and the run rate just kept on coming down. Chris Harris of Hyderabad Heroes bowled exceptionally well and claimed 3 wickets giving away just 18 runs in his 4 overs. Harris put the breaks on Chennai Superstars and reduced their batting line up. Chennai Superstars scored only 20 runs in the last 5 overs. Hyderabad Heroes wrapped up the Chennai Superstars innings in the 19th over and managed to keep the cricket score down to 160 runs. Most experts believed that Hyderabad Heroes would easily chase down the score. Hyderabad Heroes had a shaky start losing their openers in the 2nd over itself. The opening bowling partnership of Ahmed and Jesuraj of Chennai Superstars scalped 4 wickets. Ahmed was expensive but Jesuraj bowled extremely well and gave away just 16 runs and took 2 wickets. Hyderabad Heroes were reduced to 51 runs in the 6h over for the loss of 5 wickets. Hyderabad Heroes never looked recovering from the initial loss of wickets. Boje and Harris showed some resistance and built a 40 run partnership but were soon dismissed and Chennai Superstars just ran through the low order of Hyderabad Heroes. Boje played a patient knock and was the top scorer for Hyderabad Heroes with 38 runs off 49 balls including 4 boundaries. Hyderabad Heroes were restricted to 142 runs for the loss of 9 wickets at the end of their innings. Chennai Superstars won the match by 18 runs. Hyderabad Heroes faced their first defeat at the hands of Chennai Superstars. The win took Chennai Superstars to the second spot and Harvey was declared the man of the match in this ICL T-20 Cricket Match.
