Cricket360 covered the 24th ICL T-20 Match between Mumbai Champs and Delhi Giants. This match was between two teams in the last 2 spots in the ICL Points tally. Both the teams were in poor form and wanted a win desperately.
Mumbai Champs were in bad shape as they had lost all the 5 matches they have played in this ICL Season 2 and were in the last spot. Delhi Giants won the toss and elected to field first and were expecting a win in this ICL match.Mumbai Champs opened their batting positively and they were scoring freely. Mumbai Champs started slowly and scored 44 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the 7th over. Mumbai Champs innings accelerated with the 3rd wicket partnership between Raza and Jadhav. This 3rd wicket partnership took the cricket score to 116 runs at the end of the 14th over, when Jadhav was dismissed. Jadhav scored 59 runs off 47 balls including 7 boundaries. Raza scored 43 runs from 30 balls with 2 boundaries and 2 sixes. Mumbai Champs were in a position of reaching a big cricket score but Delhi Giants thought the wickets of Jadhav and Raza in the 15th and 16th overs will slow down the run rate and the cricket score as a whole. Khirid demolished Delhi Giants thoughts with his aggressive batting. Khirid took the bowlers of Delhi Giants for a run in the last 5 overs. Khirid remained unbeaten on 43 runs from 20 balls featuring 3 boundaries and 3 sixes. Khirid’s blasting innings took the cricket score of Mumbai Champs to 174 runs at the end of their innings for the loss of 4 wickets. Mumbai Champs scored 60 runs in the last 5 overs with major contribution from Khirid. Khirid rocketed the Mumbai Champs score and ended the innings on a positive note. Delhi Giants bowling was simply outclassed. Delhi Giants opened their innings slowly. Delhi Giants batting has been a big problem despite shuffling the batting order. They won the previous match only because of the bowling of Murtaza. Delhi Giants lost all the top order batsmen in the 13th over with a cricket score of 87 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Abbas Ali was the only Delhi Giants batsman to show resistance and scored 31 runs from 19 balls including 5 boundaries. Delhi Giants innings collapsed after the 13th over and they were all dismissed in the 17th over itself for a cricket score of 116 runs. Delhi Giants lost again due to their poor batting comments Cricket360 . Yadav of Mumbai Champs bowled exceptionally well and claimed 4 wickets giving away 18 runs and wrapped up the Delhi Giants innings. Khirid claimed 2 wickets and contributed in the bowling department also. Khirid was declared man of the match for his excellent batting and bowling performances. Mumbai Champs finally registered their first win in this ICL season and opened their points tally. The win doesn’t disturb the teams standing though with Chennai at the top. Mumbai Champs were in bad need of a victory and this win will bring some confidence in the players’ comments Cricket360.
