It was ‘Lion Hunting’ by Badshahs in the 28th ICL Season 2 match on 02 November evening as Lahore Badshahs fed Chandigarh Lions with the taste of another defeat in succession in ICL T-20 Challenge.

ICL's Chandigarh LionsWhen Andrew Hall, the skipper of Chandigarh Lions decided to bat first after winning the toss, He would not have thought of such a collapse by his batting arsenal to set a target of only 136 runs in 20 overs for Lahore Badshahs. Imran Nazir, the glamour boy of ICL Season 2 and Imran Farhat, one of the best opening pair in ICL as per Cricket360 , started off aggressively as usual.

In the 2nd over Nazir elevated Ablish long enough to get the first six of their innings. The huge holiday crowd here in Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium; Panchkula was treated with entertainment worth their money after the opening duo of Badshahs took over the field. In the 3rd over once again Nazir belted the ball of Malhotra over the heads but the very next ball found him troubled by a LBW decision by the field umpire. But, he challenged it and the 3rd umpire gave him rebirth. After making 18 runs with 2 sixes and 2 boundaries Nazir had to remove his jersey as he was caught by Hall of an Ablish delivery.

Then Rana Naved took over the responsibility with a first ball boundary to the square leg. Farhat too like Nazir fell in the trap of Malhotra and after hitting the bowler for a sixer; he couldn’t refrain from kissing an out singer and was eventually caught behind by the Keeper.  Yusuf then came to party with Rana and their partnership remained unbroken till the14th over and that stole the match from Champs with 4 overs to spare. From the 9th over itself Lahore Badshahs succeeded in making the required run rate tick below 6 runs per over and that eased the tension out according to Cricket360 .

ICL's Lahore BadshahsBulk of miss fielding was offered by Chandigarh Lions even after they failed to pile up a decent total and in the 14th over Yusuf was sent back for 28 runs but by that time Champs lost the total grip over the match. In the 15th over Rana completed his 50 runs from 33 balls including one six and 6 boundaries. Last ball of the 16th over was hit for a six to the fine leg by Khalid to wind up the match in favor of Lahore Badshahs by 7 wickets.

Earlier in the innings, Chandigarh Lions started off with a bang in the first 4 overs. TP Singh, the man in form had to leave LBW in the first quarter of their innings itself. Further they looked rudderless by Cricket360 and they could make only 97 runs from the last 16 overs after scoring 39 from the first 4 overs. Vincent tried to make the total a fighting one by adding 33 runs of 23 balls and only other one to score decently was TP Singh.

Rana Naved was the man of the match with a fifty runs stand and a Champs’ wicket.
