The same old story continues this time with India winning the third consecutive ODI in the Hero Honda cup. India won the third ODI by 16 runs as per Duckworth Lewis rule (Better opt for Rocket science than to understand this D/L rule-Personal opinion).
The result came when the umpires thought the light conditions had deteriorated to such an extent that further play was not possible. In the end what matters is that India gets to win the match.
Kevin Pietersen might have thought that India has won both the matches batting first so why not make them bat second (Which he might have definitely regretted in the end). England did start with a bang as the English openers came out all with all guns blazing both Ravi Bopara & Ian Bell Scored at brisk rate. Though they made a 50 run partnership it was long before Ian bell got out for 46 runs of just 47 balls (pretty fast for Ian bell I must say). With that fall of bell it was felt that now with the openers given a steady start England will be looking for a big score but the Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh had some other plans and took two quick wickets of Kevin Pietersen and Paul Collingwood. After these dismissals Bopara left too but not before making a nicely balanced half century. After Bopara had left there is nothing to talk about English batting except for some Contributions from Owais shah, Andrew Flintoff & Samit Patel. Everybody knew that defending such a low score would be highly impossible on such a nice batting track. But there were some instances in which India was in trouble. India had some early hiccup's after losing the inform batsmen Gautam Gambhir and not so inform batsmen Suresh Raina but not to worry as Virender Sehwag was on a song as he cracked a nice half century ( in his own style ) aptly supported by Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma was then bundled away followed by Sehwag with both the players back in pavilion the next person to walk on the ground was Yuvraj Singh everyone expecting another century from him he did start with a bang along with his good old friend Dhoni. Dhoni too wanted Yuvraj to get a century and thus wasted a lot of deliveries so that Yuvraj can score the remaining runs but this made the match a little boring with a lot of dot balls. I wonder what Dhoni was thinking was he expecting Yuvi to crack 100 runs in 4 over's with 6 sixes in each one. Finally Yuvraj got out at 38 but not without showing his extravagant lofted six and some magnificent boundaries. As soon has he left (previous ODI's hero) Yusuf Patahan walked in but soon the match ended because of bad light and India won as per D/L rule. There are a couple of questions which remain unanswered for instances if Dhoni did want Yuvraj to get another century why don't send him up the order. But England could take it in a positive way that they were able to trouble India this time they did upset the Indian batsmen in a way. Hope the next matches will be a close encounter as we can see the trend of English Team from being totally annihilated in the first two matches (courtesy Yuvraj Singh) to some competitive play in the third ODI.

But this time the match was a close one as compared to the previous matches in which there was no mercy for the English bowlers and batsmen. Well for a start England Captain Kevin Pietersen won another toss considering that the Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is known for his luck and has been known for winning many Tosses.
