England is going back home, its official. The BCCI agreed with their decision so the tour is off. The remainder of England's cricket tour of India involving two one-dayers and two Tests has been called off following a series of terrorist attacks in south Mumbai on Wednesday night in which around 100 people have been killed and more than 300 injured, a top BCCI official said. The official, who requested anonimity pending a formal announcement, said that the England team has expressed reservation about continuing the tour and have conveyed their decision to the BCCI."Since the England team has strong reservations of continuing with the tour, we have asked them to give it to us in writing. A formal announcement will be made in a few hours", the official said. I dont think we can stop them at this point..its too risky for our own players at this moment..someone like sachin & dhoni are on many hitlists, and after this disaster i have no faith in our security system whatsoever. I dont want to see the day when a cricketer is shot down by a terrorist. As it is its tough to digest whats happening back home. Its better they stay in the safety at home and our security is utilised more for the people in these times and not guarding two teams who are hell bent on playing a sport under terror. BCCI secretary N Srinivasan met England captain Kevin Pietersen and team manager Reg Dickason at the team hotel. The two teams were scheduled to leave for Guwahati on Thursday to play the sixth one-dayer of the seven-match series to be played on Saturday, November 29. Also called off is the two-Test series to be played next month, including the second match at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, which is located a few metres away from the scene of the terrorist attacks in South Mumbai. Even before the tour began there had been security concerns for the ECB after bomb blasts left dozens dead in Guwahati, where the sixth ODI is due to be played on Saturday. Can`t blame them really now...its too dangerous for both them and our players. But its a huge blow to our cricket, it will be very tough to get things back to normal quickly after this..our cricket was just now progressing to the next level & this is a severe blow to it. was just thinking on this, that english players would immediately react and want to go back home. and it turned true, then why are we going to pakistan .... The seniors according to reports have clearly refused to tour pakistan..i dont see them touring us either now. Probably the series would be held at a neutral venue or the whole series would be postponed alltogether. Whatever this is going to hit our cricket badly...
