Here we are at last with the Test Matches going to be on between India and England from December 11, 2008. The First Test Match venue has been shifted to Chennai from Mumbai after the Terror Attacks on Mumbai on November 26, 2008. And the Second Test Match has been shifted to Mohali from Chennai.
Mr. Dickason has been satisfied finally with all the security arrangements and his report to the ECB officials went with a green signal for the series. This is looking more like a deal between BCCI and ECB for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) Season 2 in April 2009. The English players have been dying to play in the IPL and the chances of Pakistani players opting out of the IPL due to the cancellation of future India Tour of Pakistan in January 2009 is making BCCI thinking in terms of giving a chance to the English Players. All these political permutations of the game is making things ambiguous in the deepest sense but whatever it is, fans have an opportunity to cheer the heroes again with a hope of a clean sweep in the Test Series too. The Indian Team for the Test Series has been announced and the big three are there too. This series can be the last series of Rahul Dravid according to the wide spread news and his lack of form for quite long. RP Singh is again out of the side due to the continuation of Dhoni’s luck charm Munaf Patel, where as the reason has been as the inclusion of Pragyan Ojha. Cricket360 does not see a possibility of Munaf getting a chance in the playing eleven if Team India decides to play more than a couple of spinners or it can happen vice a versa for Pragyan Ojha. Between all these probabilities the expected outcome would remain similar – Team India winning the Series 2-0. Cricket360.com wishes the Indian Team all the luck with a hope that the Team would stay united and the series would not end up saying goodbye to the “The Great Wall of India – Rahul Dravid”. Here is the 15 member squad announced for the Test Series with their playing roles:
