It was not easy putting up with Chappell - Sehwag, the star batsman of International Cricket shared his frustration with media on Monday. While talking of Chappell’s imposing style, Sehwag was opening a can of worms that, many cricketers would have liked to, but refrained from doing so for some reason or the other. When you dare to accuse your former coach, you are going to stir up really spicy cricket news and draw lots of media attention. So what was that made him drop the bombshell?  Sehwag simply branded Chappell as a person who breached the trust of the payers. “The thing (Chappell) was that whatever you shared with him, it was promptly disclosed to the media and selectors. He hurt the trust. I was not comfortable with him.”  

Sehwag has another serious accusation against Greg Chappell; he accused the former coach of trying to make him change his batting style. The controversial coach seemed to have his own opinion about Sehwag’s front foot play and his footwork that was not at all liked by this classy opener who on his day can deliver amazing cricket scores that know no bounds.

However, Sehwag is all praise for the Current Team India Coach Gary Kirsten, whom he regards as “the best coach I have ever seen”. He simply adores his coach because ‘he does not force things on you.” It is clear from Sehwag’s statement that he has been bowled over by the ways of Kirsten, “His basic premise is: You all are International Cricketers and you know how to succeed and how important it is to succeed. So I won’t thrust anything on you. But whenever you need me, for practice, throwing balls, sharing ideas, worries, I am always there.”  Sehwag added that since Kirsten has taken over, there has been remarkable improvement in the dressing room environment.

Another man that Sehwag was of all praise and admiration was Sourav Ganguly. He admitted that it was dada who was behind his starting off as an opener. He said that Sourav had taken over when the International Cricket was shaking with the impact of the betting and match fixing scandals; throughout that turbulent time, Sourav backed up all his boys. Sehwag is also of good opinion of the present captain and his aggressive approach, who according to Sehwag is the most deserving torch bearer of Sourav.

A thumbs up for Sehwag from Cricket360.com team for speaking up his mind; after all, you need to earn the trust of your boys before you start offering coaching to them. This can be an eye opener for the BCCI bosses when they chose the next coach for team India.
