English Team Wobbling with Best Caught in the Feud Print E-mail
Pitched By Cricket360 Investigator

English cricket is rather in a sorry state following a public feud between the captain and the coach. What awaits the English Cricket in the upcoming days? More tense times or strengthen of bonding among the players following the crisis? Here comes the expert analysis from Cricket360.

English cricket seems to have been wrapped up in feuds and turmoil since 2008. The latest blow came with the sacking of Peter Moores, and resignation of Pietersen, one of greatest batsmen in the current international cricket circuit. Although Strauss was to don the captain’s cap for the upcoming series against West Indies, this does not save the team from go deep down into a chaotic condition.

The way the spat between one of the best coaches and one of the beat captains took the bizarre turn, it may cause long term damage for the team. Pietersen remained the captain for six months and he was definitely taking his team to the right direction. He seemed to had have a good control over his fellow batsmen and in Cricket360.com’s opinion this was what gave Pietersen the confidence of going against the coach and bring the matter in public. Not the row as such but it is the public dimension of the entire episode that is believed to make high-profile damage to the team before Twenty-20 World Cup and against the Aussies in Ashes. On the other hand, Moores’ performance as a coach has been questioned and that is not without reason - since he took over from Fletcher, England was faced with four defeats in seven test series.

It is the more the ECB Officials, than the cricketer or coach that are getting the blames for such a bizarre turn of the event. John Wright or Tom Moody - both having brilliant track records in the International Cricket - could have made better coach than Moores during whose tenure England failed to leave any mark as a team.

England team is going to face Australia in six months time. However, the Aussies are not counting much on the state of crisis that the England Cricket Team is currently facing. Even Steve Waugh is of the opinion that England team will get enough time to unite under the umbrella of Strauss before they meet the Australians for the Ashes. However, how England Team fares in the upcoming cricket series, under the captaincy of Strauss is a matter of concern for the world of cricket as a whole. But the England’s best players, namely Pietersen and Flintoff have again missed the IPL bus for this season, as ECB refused to change their two week margin of availability before any England match. In fact featuring in IPL list for another two years will be remote possibility for these two payers who might have got calls from IPL Franchises.
