Mohnish Parmar was not picked for the Duleep Trophy despite a stellar performance in the Ranji Trophy matches (41 wickets from 8 matches). According to Cricket360’s sources, the supposed reason given for this exclusion is that the bowling action of the young Gandhinagar lad is suspect. He will be going to Bangalore where he will be attending the National Cricket Academy to rectify his supposedly faulty action. Earlier this month, an official of the Kolkata Knight Riders confirmed the cricket news that the Mohnish Parmar would be included in the KKR team for the second IPL season.

Imran Khan has always maintained that one area where Indian cricket scores over Pakistani Cricket is the Domestic Indian cricket scene. According to him, there is a much better domestic cricket circuit in place in India, which is largely absent in Pakistan. Be that as it may, the powers that be in the domestic circuit can also get it wrong from time to time. Cricket360 tells you why:

Take the case of Mohnish Parmar for instance: he was not picked for the Duleep Trophy despite a stellar performance in the Ranji Trophy matches (41 wickets from 8 matches). According to Cricket360’s sources, the supposed reason given for is omission or rather exclusion is that the bowling action of the young Gandhinagar lad is suspect. His is a bowling action that reportedly looks a lot like that of Lankan great Muthiah Muralitharan.

Now it turns out that S Venkatraghavan had pointed out this suspect bowling action as far back as 2007 however the lad was allowed to continue playing; BCCI chose to look the other way and Parmar continued to play the circuit. Now however, the bowling academy in Canberra suggested some alterations in his action so the youngster, instead of playing is being packed off to Bangalore where he will be attending the National Cricket Academy to rectify his supposedly faulty action.

Parmar seems anxious to correct whatever the fault in his action and will be looking to get back in action as soon as possible. That may also have something to do with another bit of cricket news: the fact that the promising youngster has been snapped up by the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. Earlier this month, an official of the Kolkata Knight Riders confirmed the cricket news that the Mohnish Parmar would be included in the KKR team for the second IPL season. Perhaps he is looking to get a clean chit for his bowling action so that there is no obstacle to his playing the IPL, which may be a great platform for him to display is talents as a potential match winner: not only does he take wickets, he is stingy about giving runs as well, making him someone to keep an eye out for. We at Cricket360.com will keep you posted about the developments of this young lad’s career.
