The only team in IPL to have specialists in all the departments is Kings XI Punjab. Batting – Marsh, Pomersbach, Sangakkara, Bopara; Bowling - Lee, V.R.V., Chawla, Powar and All-rounders - Yuvraj, Irfan, Hopes, what more can a playing XI ask for. Kings XI is also the only team to have multiple owners from 3 big Indian Companies. When it is all so big for the Kings XI, it is very obvious that the stake of the investors is very big too and so are the expectations.
Last year’s team’s accommodation, Yuvraj-Preity and Harbhajan-Sreesanth controversies became the road-blocks from speed breakers for the team and this year, even before the start there is a friction between owners – Preity and Ness Wadia. It is interesting to note that the team did performed brilliantly in last season and looks in good shape in this season too but it has been the personal interests of the individual owners which is drowning the team down.
