The final one day international match between South Africa and Australia was an issue of prestige for Australia. Australia was in desperate need of closing the series with a win comments Cricket360. The fourth one day international match between South Africa and Australia had a lot of expectations and Australia were in a must win situation to stay alive in the series. South Africa had the upper hand in this match. Australia managed to win the all important toss and elected to bat first. In an apparent replica of the Friday’s match, The 2nd ODI of Common Wealth Bank ODI Series also went in to a dramatic finish and Australia managed to escape from a dangerous power play this time to level the series 1-1 by winning 2nd ODI at Oval. The brave attempt to chase down a score of 249 runs led by Kallis fell short of 5 runs at the end of the day and even the last time hero Morkel too could not yield the desired outcome for the Proteas.

The opening match of Commonwealth Bank ODI Series between South Africa and Australia turned out to be a thriller in the death overs at MCG. The match swung both the ways and at the end of the day, Albie Morkel willowed a fascinating 40 runs off just 18 balls to deprive Aussies of a winning celebration. Duminy (71) and McKenzie (63) too anchored the 272 run chase well to register SA’s 6th consecutive ODI win over Australia for a margin of 3 wickets with 3 balls to spare with.
