Review of third and final One-day International played between England and West Indies at Edgbaston on Tuesday 27.05.2009. Matt Prior scored 87 off 86 balls, Owais Shah hit 75 off just 65 balls and captain Andrew Strauss made 52, as England posted its highest ever ODI score at Edgbaston. England made 327 runs for 8 beat Windies by 58 runs.

Review of second One-day International played between England and West Indies at Bristol on Sunday 24.05.2009. Fine batting and bowling display by Paul Collingwood helped England to successfully chase the target of 161 set by West Indians. England made 161 runs and lost only 4 wickets in this process thus beat Windies by 6 wickets when 13.3 overs still to be bowled.

The injury sustained by Andrew Flintoff at the DLF IPL 2009 which has put him out of action because of the surgery that will be required to be performed as well as the injury recently sustained by Kevin Pietersen is not bothering skipper Andrew Strauss too much according to cricket news reports.

Not a ball was bowled in the first one day international between the England and West Indies teams yesterday in Headingly, which was to have been the first in a series of three ODIs to be played. According to cricket news reports it was rain and a water logged outfield that prevented play even after the rain had stopped. The water could not be removed in order that the teams could commence play.

Kevin Pietersen has joined Andrew Flintoff on the injured list of the English Cricket team and will not be playing the one day matches that commence today between the English and the West Indies. He may be “extremely disappointed” not to be playing the ODIs he was looking forward to, but one man does not seem to be looking forward to the ODIs is West Indian captain Chris Gayle, who is feeling “hunted” as reported in the cricket news.
